Sequoia & Spartacus, the Collies – Dog Photography in Central Florida

A Tale of Two Collies - Dog Photography

Sequoia & Spartacus visited Liz at the Pets On The Promenade event and after having them in front of her lens for a quick studio shot she knew she needed to have them back for a full portrait session!

The location for the photoshoot was one of Liz’s favorite areas in Central Florida so far, the Bronson Loop trail near Dixie Lake, in Lake Louisa State Park, Clermont, FL. It’s a wonderful public woodland with lots of trails, open fields, and infinite possibilities.

Sequoia & Spartacus were a dream to work with! Their dog mom, Shawn, has done an amazing job turning these two into stunning dog models! They were so well-behaved and made the perfect subjects allowing Liz to capture some truly breathtaking photographs.

Sequoia is as elegant as she is beautiful. She had a blast climbing onto the fallen trees and her pose resembled a majestic queen! Now there are no sequoias in Florida like the trees she was named after, but Liz thought this image was fitting and managed to capture a beautiful moment with Sequoia looking off into the distance while balancing perfectly on this fallen tree. Sequoia and Shawn were up to any challenge Liz gave them for the day and met it head-on with grace and enthusiasm.

Dog Photo Collie laying in a burnt wood

Spartacus had a more goofy personality, but even he could turn on the charm. Liz was able to capture some majestic shots that his mom adored! He seemed to enjoy his “action” shots and found stalking toward the camera to be a great game. This allowed for some incredible images that make it feel as though he is coming right out of the photo! Both Shawn and Liz agreed that this shot of him laying in a burnt wood made for the perfect balance. Spartacus’ dignified posture and the colors of the scene brought the whole image together.

These two were inseparable seeing them side by side they almost appear to be looking into a mirror. From their similar markings to their opposite broken ears these two sure make a captivating team.

What is Shawn saying about her experience?

MJ Pawtography Did an Awesome Job!! Highly Recommended for ANY pet photos. I’m going to book 📖 them again for Princess (my horse) … Most amazing people (Liz) the photographer and owner is so personable, patient, friendly and professional and her husband (coordinator) 😊 who’s always there to support in whatever pets, owners or his own photographer’s interests or needs may be … including scouting/navigating some precarious areas for pictures with a stranger’s dog(s). Great 👍🏻 Duo team.
